Each year SEACAMP has opportunities for enthusiastic men and women who have a four-year degree, a marine science background, excellent water skills, and who enjoy working with young people. SEACAMP requires all employees to be current in Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid training and possess an excellent driving record. An education background in the sciences is preferable. Marine Science Instructor Job Announcement:
Job Duties include (but are certainly not limited to):
· All lab and field marine science instruction for students grades 5 through college
· All supervision of students, including in-water supervision
· Transportation of students in 15-passenger vans
· General camp cleaning and maintenance
· Basic computer and digital camera use
· Periodic overnight supervision
· Working as part of a team to provide an positive and educational experience to a wide variety of students
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Biology, Marine Biology or a related field
· Strong understanding of basic marine biology principles
· Excellent water skills, including comfort snorkeling and the ability to complete Red Cross lifeguard course during training (previous lifeguard experience a plus)
· Desire to work with grade school students
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· CA class B license or ability to acquire class B license
· Teaching, snorkeling and diving experience a plus
· Knowledge of local marine life a plus
· Ability to perform demanding work including supervising, teaching, and lifeguarding students in and out of the water.
· Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
· Ability to pass Department of Justice background check

Summer Internship The Seacamp internship program is designed for young aspiring students to act as a junior instructor under the supervision of the Seacamp staff. To qualify applicants should be previous SEACAMPers who are over 18 and have not yet completed an undergraduate degree. Waterskills, CPR/first aid, and current lifeguarding skills are not required, but preferable. This experience is meant to provide guidance to open-minded students seeking an opportunity directed toward a career goal in the life sciences or environmental fields. Interested students must submit applications by April 1 and SEACAMP will complete interviewing and notification by May 15.
